Rosellas

The rosellas are a genus of six incredibly brightly colored small parakeets. Scientifically known as Platycercus, they’re native to Australia, although their beautiful coloration and relatively docile personalities have made them popular as pets throughout the world.

Rosellas are known for being among the more easy-going parrots, although they still need a lot of attention, enrichment and mental stimulation to keep their smart brains occupied and prevent issues. With a bit of talking training, your rosella may even learn to speak a few words! A well-socialized rosella is affectionate, social, playful and a joy to have around.

Find out everything you need to know as a rosella owner, including about their care, lifespan and much more!
